Trauma Informed Somatic Therapy
Growth is not a solitary path, but a shared journey with connection, where healing and transformation thrive through meaningful relationships and heart felt support.
Trauma-informed somatic therapy for deep healing, emotional balance, and authentic connection
Every person deserves a safe, supportive space to find healing, self-liberation and authentic connection. These can be so often missing within western culture, many of our rights of passage distorted, traditions obscured and rituals lost. How would it feel to experience the richness of being fully human in whatever way feels right for you?
Hi, I’m Georgie. I offer somatic, trauma-informed therapy centred on your healing journey. Together, we’ll explore who you truly are and how you can move forward with more balance, connection and meaning in your life.
Somatic Therapy brings presence back to the body, encouraging feeling rather than thinking your emotions. It supports nervous system regulation, forges deep connection to self and releases stored stress and tension. We will work with whatever is present in the body, tending to core and past wounding and trauma.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed, anxious or like you are just trying to get through the day?
Our busy minds often replay stories that keep us trapped, while our bodies hold emotions waiting to be felt. In session, you’ll be encouraged to pause, notice your internal landscape, and reconnect with who you truly are. Whether you seek more meaning, a quieter mind, or simply a moment to stop holding it all together, this space is for you.
Take the Next Step
Unlike traditional Cognitive Therapy that focuses primarily on present problems, giving you coping strategies and focussing on changing behaviours; Somatic counselling invites you to listen inward and support your nervous system’s natural regulation.
You’ll be guided to:
Listen to your body
Be given tools to support regulation
Reclaim suppressed or judged emotions
Cultivate presence and emotional freedom from past Trauma.
I provide a grounded, compassionate space for your healing to unfold at your pace, beginning with a video consultation. I will then provide tailored support for your mental, emotional and physical well-being. I work virtually with clients worldwide, so distance is no barrier in beginning this path with me.
Are you ready to take the first step in reclaiming true connection with yourself?
Who is this for?
Whether you’re struggling with overwhelm, anxiety, relationship challenges or low self-worth; I am here to support your healing journey.
Common concerns include:
-
CPTSD develops from prolonged or repeated trauma, often in childhood or over an extended period. It can affect emotions, relationships, and self-perception, leading to deep-rooted struggles with trust, safety, and self-worth.
-
Feeling emotionally, mentally, or physically overloaded, often struggling to cope with everyday tasks. This can lead to shutdown, exhaustion, and difficulty making decisions.
-
Constant racing thoughts, overanalysing situations, and difficulty switching off. This can result in sleep disturbances, burnout, and feeling disconnected from the present moment.
-
A persistent sense of not being "good enough," self-criticism, and difficulty accepting compliments or success. This can stem from early experiences of neglect, criticism, or emotional invalidation.
-
A heightened state of alertness due to a dysregulated nervous system, leading to impulsivity, anger (fight), or avoidance and withdrawal (flight). This is the body's way of responding to perceived threats, even when they are no longer present.
-
Deep feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and disconnection. CPTSD-related depression often includes emotional numbness, loss of interest in life, and difficulty finding meaning or motivation.
-
A constant sense of dread or worry, often linked to past trauma. This can manifest as social anxiety, panic attacks, or chronic fear of judgment, abandonment, or failure.
-
A coping mechanism to numb emotional pain, whether through substances, food, work, relationships, or other compulsive behaviors. Often an attempt to escape unresolved trauma.
-
Unconsciously undermining success, happiness, or relationships due to deeply ingrained beliefs of unworthiness or fear of change. This may appear as procrastination, self-destructive behavior, or pushing people away.
-
CPTSD can impact relationships by creating patterns of codependency, fear of abandonment, emotional detachment, or difficulty trusting others. Past trauma often influences how one connects with and perceives others.
-
Grief isn’t just about loss through death, it can arise from the end of a relationship, a life change, or even losing parts of yourself to trauma. It can feel heavy, confusing, and unpredictable. You may feel numb or in complete overwhelm. Grief lives in the body and nervous system, not just the mind. It’s a natural, human response to loss, and you don’t have to move through it alone.
-
Chronic stress from trauma can disrupt hormones, leading to fatigue, mood swings, sleep disturbances, weight fluctuations, and issues with reproductive health. A dysregulated nervous system can contribute to imbalances in cortisol, estrogen, and other key hormones.
-
Parenting can bring up unresolved trauma, triggering fears of inadequacy, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty regulating emotions. The demands of motherhood can intensify past wounds, but healing is possible with support and self-compassion.
